During the construction of the Schulhaus Lindberg in 1935, workers stumbled upon a massive accumulation of fossilized snails from the Molasse era, approximately 15 million years old. The discovery was made when the workers encountered a hard, rocky substrate composed of marl and sandstone. 57 boxes of samples were extracted and donated to the Naturmuseum Winterthur for its paleontological collection.
